Introduction
With Swyvl, creating stunning virtual tours using 360 photos is simple and flexible. Whether you want to showcase a specific site, provide an interactive walkthrough, or build a navigable route, this guide will walk you through uploading, organizing, and publishing your 360 photo tours.
Step 1: Capture and Prepare Your 360 Photos
Tips for Capturing High-Quality 360 Photos:
Use a 360 camera to ensure full coverage with a 2:1 image ratio.
Save your photos in JPEG format with a resolution in the 2:1 ratio, such as 5,888 x 2944. A maximum of 10,000 x 5,000 pixels is generally a good balance between file size and clarity.
Keep lighting consistent and ensure key areas are in focus for the best viewing experience.

Step 2: Choose Your 360 Photo Tour Style
Swyvl offers three distinct styles for creating tours, each designed for different use cases:
1. Point View
Best for showcasing individual locations in detail.
Upload and place single 360 photos manually.
2. Scatter View
Ideal for highlighting multiple areas of a site.
Arrange and link photos to provide an interactive site overview.
3. Path View
Perfect for navigable routes, such as Google Street View-style tours.
Link photos automatically using GPS data.
Note:
For Point View and Scatter View, it's recommended to add GPS location data to your 360 photos before uploading them to Swyvl. If your photos lack GPS data, you can manually place them within your project.
For Path View, any GPS data in your 360 photos will be overridden by the GPX file to ensure accurate route alignment.
Step 3: Build Your Tour
Point View
Upload Your 360 Photos
Photos with GPS data are automatically placed on the map.
Without GPS data, photos default to the current map view, and placement must be adjusted manually.
Adjust Placement
Drag and drop photos to their correct locations on the map.
Alternatively, enter the latitude and longitude manually in the Data Source settings.
Scatter View
Upload and Organize Your Photos
Upload photos to automatically place them based on GPS data.
If GPS data is missing, set your map location and click Place Photos to arrange them in a grid.
Connect Your Photos
Enter Edit Pano Connections mode to link photos with navigation arrows.
Click between two photos to create a connection (visible as a blue line).
Right-click on a line to remove unwanted connections.
Pro Tip: If connections are not visible, adjust the photo height in the Data Source settings. Increase by increments of 10 until they appear.
Path View
Prepare Your GPX File
Use a GPX file to capture GPS data for your route.
Refer to:
Upload Your Photos
The system matches photo timestamps to your GPX file timeline.
Fix errors by removing photos that donโt align with the timeline.
Finalize Your Path
Photos will automatically link and be organized in a Path View folder within the Data Sources panel.
Step 4: Finalize and Publish Your 360 Photo Tour
Review Your Tour
Use Preview Mode to ensure all connections, placements, and transitions are smooth.
Publish Your Tour
Click Publish to Viewer to make the tour live.
Share the link with your team or audience.
Pro Tip: Edits to a published tour require you to Unpublish and then Publish again to update the live version.
