Introduction
Swyvl now supports Still Photos, allowing you to add and position regular images on your map. Whether you need to highlight specific features, document multiple views of a location, or quickly place a large set of geo-tagged images, this guide will walk you through the different methods available.
Step 1: Choose How to Add Still Photos
Swyvl offers three different ways to add still photos, depending on your needs:
1. Single Photo Point
Best for: Highlighting a specific feature or capturing a single viewpoint.
How it works: Add one photo to a single point on the map. Ideal for precise locations where only one image is needed.
2. Photo Gallery Point
Best for: Providing multiple perspectives or detailed views from a single location.
How it works: Add multiple photos to a single point on the map, grouping related images together.
3. Geo-located Photos
Best for: Quickly placing large photo sets with precise geolocation information.
How it works: Upload one or multiple photos, and Swyvl will automatically place them based on their embedded GPS metadata.
Step 2: Select and Upload Your Data
Once you have chosen your preferred method for adding still photos, follow these steps to upload your images:
Select Your Data
Choose to Select Existing Data or Add New Data.
If adding new data, select the folder within your Resources where you’d like to upload your images.
Upload and Process Your Photos
If your images have GPS metadata, they will automatically be placed at their captured locations on the map.
If your images do not have GPS data, they will be added to the current map view. You can manually reposition them by dragging the image pin to the correct location.
Step 3: Review and Publish Your Photos
Check that all images are correctly positioned. Adjust height or location as needed.
Click Publish to Viewer to make your still photos live in your Swyvl project.
If you need to make changes after publishing, simply Unpublish, edit your project and then Publish again to update the live version.
