Introduction
Capturing a 360° panorama (pano) photo with a DJI drone lets you create immersive, high-resolution images perfect for virtual tours, Google Street View-style walkthroughs, and Swyvl projects.
DJI makes this simple with its built-in Panorama modes, available in both the DJI Fly App (for newer drones) and the DJI GO 4 App (for older models). This guide walks you through the process step by step, with tips to get the best results.
Which DJI App Do You Use?
DJI Fly App → Used on Mini, Air, and newer Mavic drones (e.g., Mini 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, Air 3, Mavic Air 2).
DJI GO 4 App → Used on older Mavic, Phantom, and Inspire drones (e.g., Mavic 2 Pro, Phantom 4 Pro, Inspire 2).
Check which app your drone uses before following the correct guide below.
How to Capture a 360° Panorama in the DJI App
Both apps follow similar steps, screenshots below are from the DJI Go 4 app.

Ensure your drone is stable, with enough battery and storage.

Canceling the Capture
Tap the stop button (square icon) in the app if you need to cancel.
The drone will stop shooting immediately and hover in place.

Tips for the Best 360° Panorama Photos
Shoot in not too windy conditions – prevents drone movement and misaligned stitches.
Hover Steadily – let the drone settle before capturing.
Cancel if needed – don’t hesitate to stop a pano if conditions change.
Next Steps
Once captured, your DJI pano photos can be uploaded into Swyvl to create immersive virtual tours, share remote site visits, or build Google Street View-style walkthroughs.
