It’s your workspace for configuring and customizing projects, transforming raw spatial data into organized, shareable, and actionable virtual experiences. What is the Builder?
The Builder is the part of Swyvl where you upload, organize, and configure the elements of your project. It’s designed to be intuitive and flexible, enabling users to manage various types of spatial data—starting with 360 photos—and prepare them for seamless viewing and collaboration.
The Builder Layout
1. Top Panel
The top panel contains tools for adding new elements to your base map.
Shapes: Add points, lines, and polygons as overlays to highlight specific features.
Data Tools: Import GeoJSON files, images, or iFrames.
Ruler: Measure distances quickly and accurately.
Site & Floor Plans: Group data into levels with the visual aid of plans.
Local View: Build a 360 photo tour to create immersive virtual experiences.
2. Left Panel
The left panel is where you manage your project elements and settings.
Data Sources: View and manage all the elements added to your map, including shapes, tiles, and images.
Base Map: Choose a base map style to set the visual tone of your project.
Settings: Update general project settings, such as Project name, Open graph settings and set the starting camera view.
3. Map Tools
Located at the bottom-right corner of the Builder, these tools help you control the map view.
Zoom In/Out: Adjust the zoom level to focus on specific areas or get an overview.
Target: Center the map on your real-world location.
Home Button: Return to the starting view of your project with a single click.
4. Navigation Tools
These tools make it easy to find and navigate to specific locations worldwide.
Search Bar: Enter an address or place name to quickly locate it on the map.
Navigate To: Jump to predefined points of interest saved within your project.
Tips for Using the Builder
Organize Data: Use folders in the Data Sources panel to keep your project elements organized.
Preview Frequently: Test how your project will appear in the Viewer by using the Preview feature.
