Publishing a Project

Share your project by publishing it to the Viewer

Updated over 3 weeks ago

What Does "Publishing" Mean?

Publishing makes your Swyvl project viewable in the Viewer — a clean, interactive mode that hides editing tools and gives others a focused experience of the map.

When you publish:

  • All data added in the Builder becomes visible in the Viewer

  • Your basemap, branding, and styling are included

  • You get a shareable link that anyone can open (unless access is restricted)

Updating a Published Project

After publishing, you can continue editing your project in the Builder.

To apply any updates:

  • Click the Republish button

  • Your latest changes will be reflected in the Viewer

There’s no need to copy a new link — it stays the same unless you unpublish the project.

You can republish as often as needed — there are no limits.

Password-Protecting Your Viewer

  • To restrict access to your published Viewer, toggle on the Password option during the publishing step

  • Viewers will need to enter this password to access your project

  • You can change or remove the password at any time by publishing again with a new setting
