You can add inspection photos, site progress shots, or aerial stills to your map using the Photo Tools. There are three ways to upload photos, depending on how many you have and whether they contain location data.
Step 1: Choose Your Upload Method
A. Single Photo Point
Best for: Highlighting a specific feature or capturing a single viewpoint.
How it works: Add one photo to a single point on the map. Ideal for precise locations where only one image is needed.
2. Photo Gallery Point
Best for: Providing multiple perspectives or detailed views from a single location.
How it works: Add multiple photos to a single point on the map, grouping related images together.
3. Geo-located Photos (Bulk Upload)
Best for: Quickly placing large photo sets with precise geolocation information.
How it works: Upload one or multiple photos, and Swyvl will automatically place them based on their embedded GPS metadata.
Step 2: How to Upload
Manual Upload (Single & Gallery)
In the Toolbar, select Photo Tools > Photo.
Choose Single Photo Point or Photo Gallery Point.
Select Add New and choose your file(s).
Once processed, the photo pin is automatically added to the center of your screen.
Drag the pin to its correct location on the map.
Automated Upload (Geo-located)
In the Toolbar, select Photo Tools > Photo.
Choose Geo-located Photos.
Select Add New and choose your files.
Swyvl will process the files:
With GPS: Photos appear automatically on the map.
Without GPS: Photos will pile up in the center of your screen (you must move them manually).
Step 3: Adjusting Position & Height
Once photos are placed, you may need to fine-tune them.
Reposition: Simply drag the photo icon to a new spot on the map.
Note: If a photo has GPS data, moving it manually overrides that data.
Adjust Height: If your icons are hidden by 3D terrain (or floating too high):
Click the photo icon to open the Properties Panel.
Go to the Placement Tab.
Adjust the Height slider until the icon is clearly visible above the ground.
Step 4: Review & Publish
Photos are visible to you immediately in the Builder.
To make them visible to your viewers, click Publish to Viewer in the top right corner.
