▶️ This video steps through the entire workflow: uploading and placing 360 photos, fixing photo orientation, adjusting height, and adding pano-to-pano connections.
What Is Scatter View?
Scatter View lets you create an interactive 360 photo tour by manually placing and connecting panoramas on your map. It’s ideal for sites where you want to highlight specific areas with navigation between photos.
Use Scatter View when:
Your 360 photos don’t follow a linear route (like a festival site or large facility)
You want to control exactly how photos are positioned and linked
You don’t have a GPX file or timestamp data for automatic linking
Step 1: Upload Your 360 Photos
In the Builder, click the 360 Photo button in the Toolbar.
Choose Scatter View as your tour style.
Upload your 360 JPEG files:
If your photos include GPS data, they’ll be automatically placed on the map.
If not, they will appear centered on the current map view.
You can drag each photo to its correct position manually.
Step 2: Fix Orientation (North Offset)
To adjust which direction each 360 photo faces:
Click the photo to open the Properties Panel.
Go to the Placement tab.
Adjust the North Offset slider until the photo aligns with the correct direction on the map.
Tip: Use visible landmarks to guide your alignment.
Step 3: Set the Correct Height
360 photos are often placed at an incorrect height due to embedded metadata.
To fix this:
In the Placement tab of the Properties Panel, adjust the Height manually.
Use visual cues (like ground level or the 360 photo radar) to get it right.
📌 Note: If you're using Google 3D Tiles, terrain data may cause photos to appear too low or partially hidden. Try switching to OpenStreetMap while editing for a clearer view.
Step 4: Add Navigation Arrows Between Photos
Now it’s time to connect your 360 photos into a tour.
Click the photo and enter Edit Pano Connections mode using the button in the Toolbar.
Click between two photos to create a navigation arrow.
A blue line will appear between them on the map.
Add multiple connections to allow flexible navigation.
To remove a connection, right-click the line.
🔁 You can enter and exit Edit Pano Connections mode at any time while editing, just click Save/Cancel.
Tips and Troubleshooting
Navigation arrows not showing? Try changing the basemap to OpenStreetMap or adjusting the photo’s height.
Photo facing the wrong way? Use the North Offset slider to rotate it.
Accidentally moved a photo? Just drag it back into position on the map.
